We are a Danish family: Tonni, Tina, Bjørk and Andrea Nørgaard Andersen from Vangede, a small town 10 kilometers north of Copenhagen. Andrea is 5 years in November 04 (18 th.), she is still “kindergarten-age”. Bjørk is 8 years in November 04 (28 th.), she is a school-kid, second grade. We decided to take a trip around the world with our children mainly for three reasons:
- We would like to see more of the world
- We want our children to see how different people and places can be in this world
- We would like to spend more time with our children and share more experiences with them
Our World Tour 2004-05 started on September 16 th 2004, ends May 31 st 2005 and will take us to Crete, Thailand, Vietnam, China, Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, USA, Spain and England.
Everydaylife or holidays?
While we are away we will be teaching Bjørk ourselves, and we are in touch with her teachers via e-mail on a regular basis. Besides that we will teach both of the girls some English. The lessons will be a daily routine, and as we plan to have self-catering where we can, we will have a sort of everydaylife. Especially the places where we stay for a longer period. We also hope to get to know people and places better this way. So we are probably going to get both everydaylife and holidays!
The name Globetosser should remind you of the word globetrotter, but the second part of the word has been changed into “tosser”, which is a Danish word for nutcases. Some of our friends, now former friends, said that the name Globetosser was very easy to remember, especially the last part!
